Mignolet will stay at Liverpool – Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has his belief that Simon Mignolet will be staying at the club, despite not getting much game-time.

The Belgian goalkeeper arrived to Anfield from Sunderland back in 2013, and since then he has stood between the posts 204 times. Loris Karius was given a chance of pushing him out of the starting XI twice and failed, but Mignolet definitely lost his place with the arrival of Alisson Becker last summer. It has now been a year and a half since he was considered as Klopp s first option, and his future has been the subject of speculation on several occasions.

However, the German tactician insists that at a club like Liverpool, who have won the Champions League this year and finished a single point behind Premier League winners Manchester City, two goalkeepers capable of being number one are needed, and that s what they have with Alisson and Mignolet.

Klopp also took the opportunity to praise Mignolet s professional attitude.
