The Numbers Game: Can Arsenal handle Rice absence in derby clash with Tottenham?

The Premier League is back following the first international break of the season, and Sunday s headline fixture looks to be worth the wait as Tottenham host Arsenal.

The first North London Derby of the campaign comes after disappointing results for both sides on matchday three, with Arsenal losing early ground on Manchester City and Liverpool as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton.

Ange Postecoglou s Spurs, meanwhile, were beaten 2-1 at Newcastle United, leaving them three points behind their rivals in the early-season standings.

What can we expect as these North London heavyweights go head-to-head for local bragging rights at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?

Evergreen Klose aims to play at 2014 World Cup

On the eve of Germany s opening Euro 2012 qualifier, Germany striker Miroslav Klose said Thursday he wants to play on until the next World Cup in Brazil in 2014.

The 32-year-old has already won 101 caps for his country and with 14 World Cup goals to his credit, is just one short of the record of 15 set by Brazil s Ronaldo.

I think I can still play for a few more years at a high level, said the Bayern Munich striker with Germany set to face Belgium in Brussels on Friday in their first Euro 2012 qualifier in Group A.

I m only 32, so age is not a problem.

If I am still fit in four years and my performances are good enough, why shouldn t I not play then?

Klose is third amongst Germany s all-time goal-scorers with 52 and is just behind Joachim Str…

World Cup 2018: Samara signs off with Neymar´s acting, terrible predictions and a goalscoring Harry

After three weeks and six matches, Samara s World Cup story came to an end on Saturday.

The final act proved to be England s comfortable 2-0 quarter-final win over Sweden, which set up a trip to Moscow and a last-four meeting with Croatia.

That triumph proved a fine way for Omnisport to sign off from its stay in the city, at the end of a third and final week which featured Neymar, a (not so, as it turns out) psychic goat, and Harry Maguire s head.

Enjoy our recap of the last seven days in Samara, with our Twitter moment below:

Euro 2020 final: England must take Wembley opportunity – Kane

Harry Kane knows England must make home advantage count as the Three Lions aim to win a major tournament for only the second time.

England beat Denmark on Wednesday courtesy of Kane s extra-time goal to progress to their maiden European Championship final, and their first in any competition since 1966.

Kane s goal also saw him equal Gary Lineker as England s leading scorer in major tournaments, with 10.

Italy, playing in their 10th major tournament final (six at the World Cup, four at the Euros), stand in the way of Gareth Southgate s team, however.

The Three Lions will have the crowd firmly on side at Wembley on Sunday, though, and Kane – who stated winning with England would rank above winning a trophy at club level – is out to make history.

2017 FIFA Best Player Cristiano Ronaldo – A Year in Numbers Reveals Insatiable Desire

Eyes rolled unimpressively as Cristiano Ronaldo got crowned – for the second time in a row – the Best Player of the Year in 2017 by FIFA.

Simply the Best

The Portuguese was an obvious choice and a foreseen winner in front of his arch rival Leo Messi as two of the world’s best players continued to scoop individual honours and extend their global dominance.

Perhaps an eye-roll here and a yawn there came as underappreciation for Cristiano Ronaldo’s impressive achievements over the course of past 12 months. As Portuguese superstar moves closer to (highly likely) sweeping the Ballon d’Or prize as well, a recap of numbers in 2017 is in order – if nothing else than at least – to act as a reminder of Cristiano Ronaldo’s ongoing brilliance both for club and coun…

Majority of players in Euro 2020 and AFCON finals were abused online, FIFA-published report finds

A study has shown that over 55 per cent of players who featured in the finals of Euro 2020 and this year s Africa Cup of Nations were abused online.

The independent report, released by FIFA five months prior to the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, identified that homophobic and racist comments were the two main areas of concern.

Over 400,000 social media posts were examined, spread across Twitter and Instagram, and 541 cases of direct discrimination or other forms of abuse were discovered.

The majority of hate comments were found to have originated from the home countries of targeted players, with 38 per cent having been made in the United Kingdom.

The study showed that 40 per cent of abusive messages contained homophobic content, and 38 per …

Saints vs Patriots Week 3 Picks and Predictions: Which NOLA Team Marches Into Foxboro?

By now, the New Orleans Saints must have this travel thing fine-tuned to George Clooney “Up In The Air” levels. The Saints are playing their third straight game away from home when they visit New England this Sunday.

The NFL betting odds have New Orleans as a 3-point road underdog, coming off a one-sided loss at Carolina last weekend — a stark contrast to its 38-3 Week 1 victory over Green Bay (in Jacksonville, after being displaced due to Hurricane Ida).

Here are our free NFL picks and predictions for Saints vs. Patriots on Sunday, September 26.

49ers vs Packers Divisional Round Prop Bets and Same-Game Parlay: Packers' Unsung Heroes Shine vs. Niners

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers come into this game fresh out of a bye week, now they’re welcoming the 49ers to Lambeau Field. The Niners came through a tough game against the Cowboys by playing smart and more disciplined football.

The Packers are a different beast though and we’ll need to see a Kyle Shanahan masterclass to out-scheme the Packers and the future MVP. Don’t miss out on our Wild Card prop bets and same-game parlay for the San Francisco 49ers vs. Green Bay Packers.
