Monaco to bid for Matic
Sky Italia is reporting that Monaco are stepping up their efforts to sign Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic from Benfica.
The Serbian is likely to become one of the hottest commodities in the January transfer window, with a host of top European clubs casting admiring glances his way.
And while Manchester United, Chelsea, Napoli and few other sides have yet to make their interest concrete, Monaco are set to test Benfica s resolve with a €25 million bid.
Claudio Ranieri is reportedly unimpressed with his current options in the centre of the park and is eager to add the Serbia international to his ranks in the winter.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp played down his record-breaking 50th European win after the 3-1 victory over LASK in Austria.
His side came from behind for the fourth time in six matches as goals from Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and substitute Mohamed Salah secured the German’s 50th European victory for the club – surpassing the record he held with Rafael Benitez.
“Let me say it like this, if I still have 50 after the group stage, then even if I’ve still got the most wins in Europe as a Liverpool manager then everybody will hate that,” he said.

An outstanding performance from goalkeeper Tom Heaton against his former club helped Burnley to earn a 0-0 Premier League draw away to Manchester United, who finished with 10 men on Saturday following Ander Herrera s sending off.
United, who also had manager Jose Mourinho sent to the stands at half-time, controlled the play and carved out a host of chances, but were unable to get past the sublime Heaton.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Juan Mata in particular will wonder how they failed to find the back of the net, as the visitors weathered the storm to take a valuable point.
Their cause was helped by the careless dismissal of Herrera, who was booked for late tackles on Dean Marney in each half to receive his marching orders with 22 minutes to go.

Everton s Mason Holgate has undergone a medical ahead of a potential loan move to West Bromwich Albion, according to Sky Sports.
The defender, who controversially accused Liverpool s Roberto Firmino of racism 12 months ago with no evidence, has found his game-time non-existent this season, after the arrivals of manager Marco Silva and defenders Kurt Zouma and Yerry Mina. The Toffees have reportedly been open to loan offers for some time now, and West Brom have apparently beaten Leeds United to secure his services for the rest of 2018/19.
The 22-year-old started out at Barnsley and moved to Goodison Park in 2015, but he didn t play at all in his first season there. He made 42 appearances over the next two campaigns and that remains his total in an Everton shirt. Being on…
There are so many things in this world money CAN buy.
Some claim love and happiness can even be obtained with enough funds and while that may well be true, in case of Paris Saint-Germain the bagful of green ones – exceeding the whopping amount of £1 billion – cannot buy you a Champions League trophy.
Champions League Dream
With their domestic dominance firmly asserted following an upset year of 2016/17 when AS Monaco climbed their way to the Ligue 1 top, Paris Saint-Germain once again shifted their full focus on winning the Champions League.
The summer behind us made PSG fans believe the Champions League success was enticingly achievable.

Substitute Sergio Aguero proved Manchester City s hero as they overcame Burnley in a tense 2-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium, despite playing almost an hour with 10 men.
The Argentinian striker surprisingly dropped to the bench for City s second game in 48 hours after their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool was introduced as a second-half replacement for Kelechi Iheanacho and subsequently proved the match-winner, after stand-in captain Fernandinho had been sent off.
The Brazilian jumped in with a two-footed scissor motion to challenge Johann Berg Gudmundsson in the 32nd minute and, despite appearing to get a touch on the ball, was shown a straight red by referee Lee Mason.
City kept their cool, though, and two goals in the space of four minutes from Gael Clichy and…
The 2021/22 Premier League campaign has officially come to an end following the final set of 10 fixtures on Sunday, and what a wild ride it was. We had action at both the top and the bottom of the table and at the Emirates, we saw six goals as Arsenal ran out 5-1 winners over Everton.
Today, we re going to take a look at a few things we learned coming away from the North London battering.
Arsenal soar, Everton on the beach
Arsenal knew that their chance of securing a place in the top four and Champions League football was probably gone, but they went out there and did their job anyway. They stuck five past Everton and did so with a real hint of what could ve been for the fans to digest, whereas Everton already seemed to be on the beach. Given that they d sealed surviva…
